I've spent an hour or two this afternoon, visiting some less-often-seen friends of this blog. Most are now forced to withhold their sexy shots -- the only question now being, what is "sexy," and like any censors (the Chinese come to mind) Flickr uses a meat ax -- where even a scalpel would do damage

I just checked -- per mahalo.com, Murdoch's NewsCorp is buying 20% of Yahoo for about $5 billion. Yahoo in turn now controls Wikipedia.

And, of course, NewsCorp owns all the Fox media, as well as the Wall Street Journal, the Times of London, and dozens of other infotech properties.

And I suppose you've heard what the bastard is doing in Chinese media, inevitably abusing his control over content wherever he goes.

As far back as the mid-90s, according to the Independent newspaper of London, Murdoch's NewsCorp was HELPING China to censor their media --

"'Smart card' technology that would allow television programmes to be vetted before being broadcast is among options believed to have been offered by Rupert Murdoch, the media magnate, to persuade the authorities in China to let him expand his Star TV network there."
