Probably more a case of the Observer effect which the Heisenberg uncertainty principle is kind of an example of. Heisenberg's uncertainty deals with particles on a molecular level and how you can't both the position and velocity of an particle as measuring one alters the other.

I've been interested in Heisenberg since seeing a play by Michael Frayn. It was based on a documented -- but very private -- meeting between the Danish physicist Niels Bohr and Heisenberg (the latter has studied under Bohr and was supposed to be developing an atomic bomb for Hitler). The event occurred in Copenhagen in 1941.
Thanks for pointing up the distinction on the uncertainty principle, which I hadn't quite grasped (obviously -- though it WAS five in the morning!).

Well I did do a bit of research on the Wikipedia to confirm my facts. Mostly just making sure that it was position and velocity were the 2 things that are altered I can never remember that part.
