Not to get too didactic, but let me repeat previous notes to the effect that my tags come from a decade-old list on LJ. I stopped creating new ones when LJ started charging for them. (Curiously, LJ keeps up my old list.)

Nowadays, I'm amused to pick out a few old tags for some of my current posts. Any readers interested to see what I was thinking back in The Day is invited to click away!

Well for a long time, and who knows it could still be, it was a "good old boys" scene. I am glad there are some changes.

Fortunarely, some of the boys are Asian billionaires (and Amazonian ones!).

I might have guessed, dear Vikkie, that you'd be among the cognoscenti of the newspaper scene.

I would not say that I am that, but I do follow the medium of news media. History has proved those who control the press sway the society norms.

They do, of course. Trumpsky is only the most egregious practitioner of influence-mongering in regard to the media.

When I was working overseas, I always enjoyed my conversations (mostly on "deep background") with both local press and non-resident reporters. I was "burned" only once in 20 years: a leftist asshole based in Ecuador twisted the fuck out of a long off-the-record interview.
