She's such a damned good photographer, not just in the composition but technically. There's a photo called THAT GIRL of one of her friends, and the shadows of the trees around her are used to bring out the shape of her face. There's a lovely variety of mood to them, from serious to silly, which keeps you looking through the albums. The selfies are fascinating. She is attractive, but she has such an extraordinarly expressive face and eyes (especially the eyes), that the pictures are the complete opposite of objectification. You're looking, but you feel someone looking back at you.

Agree, agree AND agree. You've picked up much of what intrigues me about Lora. Her EYE is phenomenal. Her attitude is positive (as Rena just wrote), though she is not an uncomplicated person. (An observation I base on her elaborate Tumblr activities, including photos, drawing poetry and an "advice to the lovelorn" column* she writes.)

And I appreciated your insight, Gary, into how her personality emerges in her photos, the selfies, particularly -- the "opposite of objectification"...

* I notice quite a number of Tumblrs, younger ones particularly, seem to reach out to their "followers" (that's the Tumblr concept -- you don't have "friends" [as on various social media, including LJ] but rather acolytes). Pretty often, it's the "sexlorn" who are the target audience. Though, sometimes, a variant on the old saying applies: "those who CAN, DO; those who CAN'T... ADVISE! Anyhow, the pontificating can get a bit fierce...

Thanks, I was a bit off of it yesterday -- after digging it weeks ago when I asked Lora for permission. But it is growing on me again!
