I picked that shot for the intimacy of looking at her from below. Unusual -- and just slightly naughty!

Incidentally, I really like your icons! This one, as tiny as it is, seems to be a semi-naked girl. I strained my eyeballs for a clearer view -- but am still unsure what it shows.

LOL...it she's naked, it's the avian variety! A Russian LJ friend made that for me from a cinemagraph.

the blocking click to download is a challenge for a small useful program called Snippy :) Whatever you see on the screen is snaggable then :)

Well, I looked up "snippy" (which I hadn't heard of) -- and, indeed, Google and other massive corporate programmers are involved in this "simple, fast and unobtrusive way to collect snippets from webpages, save them together and publish them on the web for your friends to see!"

Obviously, copyrights and other "property" are undermined by such a mechanism. Much as I dislike Flickr (and that was my complaint here), it does actually try to preserve a photographer/artist's control of their creations. Tumblr, which I like even as I recognize just how subversive it is, is the antithesis of Flickr. Photos by the billions now float free of their histories -- their whole "provenance." Devil, as they say, take the hindmost...

Anyone else familiar with "snippy" and how it's used??

well..do I understand right that you have the prog.already?
after a few attempts to tell you how it works by using my funny English i've found something that looks like a useful manual :) http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-145-snippy

edit to add:
gosh,no manual there..sorry,I was too quick..at least I've pointed you to the prog I'm using...OK,when you click on the scissors icon with left mouse button, the cursor turns in a pen, whatever you mark then can be saved with right mouse button click on the scissors by cjhoosing the type of file. When you need to download some photo it's better to do it a differtent way-when the left click turns the cursor in a pen, click on the right "shift" buttpn on your keyboard and the pen turns in a kind of "pointer" Just mark all you want to download (it will be marked blue) and again-right mouse click on the scissors and save as...

Wow, that was a welcome blast from the past. That's Jenni from about 3 houses and quite a few makeovers ago. When I started SL, Jenni had this little 'council house' with an empty upstairs. I moved in and decorated, hence the red carpet, bookcase, sofa and coffee table. Jen later gave me the pink piano as a present. She's not wearing her shoe alphas right (silly girl!) so her heels look all wrong. She was very lovely then and those were fun times.

Ummm, I like this photo of her. But, er, "alphas" -- something to do with manipulating the skins?

Yeah, shoes are one of the more complex things to wear in SL. Shirts, jackets, trousers don't change the shape of the body inside, but high heels do. Without shoes on, you have bare, flat feet. With shoes on, you would still have flat feet, so they have to add a kind of foot-in-a-high-heel-shoe shape to it and hide the flat foot, which they do with a sort of invisibility 'alpha' mask. This unfortunately masks out bits of shoe and furniture and all sorts if it's not set right.

To wear a pair of high heels, you must wear shoe left + shoe right + alphas + foot shaper and make sure they all appear at the ends of your legs, not halfway up or through the floor! In this photo, Jenni has not set her alphas properly.

If that all sounds a bit horrendous, don't worry. It's not and after you've set it once, you don't have to do it again.

Clearly there's much more art than mere tech mastery involved. And you are SO good at it, sweetie.

BTW have you wandered on Tumblr lately? I keep commenting to you on ultradevi2, and I don't seem to have many other followers there...
