"O'zapft is!" - 14 days of Oktoberfest fun now in progress

With the traditional words "O'zapft is!" - "the barrel has been tapped" - Munich major Christian Ude declared the Oktoberfest 2007 open a few days ago. oh no I won`t go^^ and that for various reasons:

a)I`m living hundreds of kilometres away
b)I`m not into Bavarian lifestyle (Trachten, Weißbier,Brezel...)
c)I`m no celebrity ;)
d)costs at the Oktoberfest are unbelievably and extortionately high and I`m not willing to spend "half of my income" ;) there

But for those who like it and can afford it: ENJOY! &hearts Have some nice days there!:)

I'll probably go but not to the one in Munich - we have a HUGE one in Waterloo :)

My boyfriend went with me a couple of years ago. He was very intimidated by the huge crowd. I had a blast (it was my B-day and my cousins let me drink from their beer until I was drunk as a skunk). My poor dad had to take care of me. Very embarrassing and I paid the next couple of days with a major hangover. It was still a lot of fun (besides the embarrassment and the hangover).

There was one threat that was apparently deleted by the original poster - it was the one where she asked what would happen if she did the Hitlergruss in Germany. I'm assuming the poster didn't like the answers (I'm the mod and I did NOT delete it - just for the record).
