When I break things, clearly I go straight for the pricey shit. We finally got to order the part we needed last night for the princely sum of $140ish shipped. Ouch. At least the machine will be fixed by Friday evening, provided the part ships today. Press pot coffee is good and all

Expensive, indeed--I think our most expensive coffee-related purchase ever was a Keurig machine, our model of which rings in at $140 brand-new (or $120 on sale, as I recall.) :D

Yeah. It just blows my mind that such a small little part (1" by 3/4" by 3") could cost so much.
