Heh. We'd been "sort of discussing it" for some time so it was sort of inevitable for us. I like your way, though, it sounds like it was a lot of fun. Sorry I missed it (I crashed hard that day due to the previous two weeks' busy-ness).
I should warn you, since I've been looking around for venues, that you might want to book your hall immediately if you're looking for May. June is all booked up for the year at several venues, and Memorial Day Weekend is mostly booked at many of the places I checked as well. ACEN is the weekend of the 16-17-18th so at this point I'm looking at the 30th, a Friday evening (cheaper than Saturday), with the wedding on-site at a gazebo or park-like area on the premises. Date is not yet confirmed, but I presume you'll want to avoid overlapping ACEN and our wedding as well.
And if you want a brilliant DJ and don't mind paying a bit for one, I can recommend the finest in all of greater Chicagoland. And he happens to have the 10th open if you're interested. ;)
