We also bought Samsung, because Sony stuff has all had problems for me in the past. But the blu-ray system is Sony and their updates apparently don't work. So my old Pioneer DVD player is back in place and so is my old VHS player since I have a ton of tapes too.

Thanks, at least Best Buy didn't have any hesitation about taking it back for a full refund. Kevin had bought it online with Best Buy with instore pick up. But we returned it to a different Best Buy store, so I was ready for some funky-ness but they just smiled and gave us our money back. So in a couple years when they have either blu-ray figured out OR a new standard, we'll try again! Meanwhile netflix has it all on DVD too!
