If I had to recommend any book right now, it would be Go Ask Alice. The author is anonymous, because it is based on the diary of a teenage drug-user who ultimately died

Oh, thanks so much for sharing! I've been meaning to find some more books of this nature to read, true-to-life stories either fiction or non, and you just gave me one. :)

Also, have you ever read Before Women Had Wings by Connie May Fowler? It's simply amazing and one my favs.

Oh, you're welcome! Technically, Go Ask Alice is a teen book, but it doesn't really matter. The subject matter is too universal, in my opinion.

Ah, I read that last year. I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. The editor has a bunch of other books like it, if you're interested. I already forgot her name but if you search for Go Ask Alice, the other ones should come up. Teen pregnancy, etc... other stuff like that.

I read that book the day after I read Perks of Being a Wallflower, which you might like to read. :-p It's quite different but deals with similar issues in terms of drugs. BUT SO MUCH ELSE HAPPENS OMG LOVE IT LOLOLOL~!!~~!!!1
