H50: If you've been wondering why Alex O'Loughlin looks like hell on the show lately, here's the answer. At least he was smart enough to go to rehab before the meds took over his life

Sad to hear the news about Alex O'Loughlin but yeah, good that he's getting treatment. I hadn't watched any of S2 and then caught a recent episode and was struck by how haggard he looked.
Yeah, I saw the news about AO'L this morning. Poor guy, I feel for him. At least he realized the problem and is getting treatment before things get any worse.
I found the news about AOL so sad and upsetting. He's looked so ill on the past few episodes I was actually worried about what was going on with him. So, it's so good he's getting help. Sending him good thoughts! Things must be quite bad for him to have to miss "at least one episode."
(in the TMI department, I have this half-finished fic in which AU!19thC!Steve have been kidnapped and forcibly addicted to something. I was actually thinking in that in the last episode show!Steve looked like I wanted my fic!Steve to look--at his worst. It's going to be weird to try and finish the fic now...)
I loved that first Eagle fic you rec'd--will have to check out the others.
Oh, wow, I can see why that would be weird. Streams crossing and all that! But at least AOL is on the mend (hopefully) and so it will be less weird soon. Because your story sounds awesome and I really want to read it. *g*)
I'm glad AOL is getting treatment. Pain meds are so easy to get addicted to, even if you're taking them correctly and responsibly, and many people need monitored assistance to get off them. I hope he's well soon!
I hope so, too. It's actually good news, from a certain perspective; to me, the bad news would have been if this happened a year from now, when it'd be harder to wean off.

I actually noticed that Alex looked drawn and haggard in the last couple of episodes, but the news still surprised me.
