For those few Spartacus: Blood and Sand fans on my flist - Andy Whitfield has died of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. I just finished a rewatch of Spartacus a few days ago, and I was struck all over again by how good he really was in the role, and by his beautiful eyes. He was only 39. Too young ( Read more... )

Anytime someone younger than me goes, I always have a moment of mental shock. I don't know, it's especially sad with someone like this, who was in the prime of life.

I still find it funny how I went from OH HELL NO to OH HELL YEAH about the show in the course of a half dozen eps. I think he was a large part of that.

It is so sad. I was hoping that maybe no news was good news, but...sadly, I guess they were guarding their privacy.
