After his shift, James Wilson (Boy Wonder Oncologist) heads for home. Or at least the hotel he's been calling home for quite some time now. The thought that he should maybe consider looking into an apartment, which, while not quite as convenient, would certainly be cheaper in the long run is really quite rudely interrupted by the realization that ( Read more... )

"Don't bother," Chase said, from his seat in the lobby. "No one seems to work here."

Wilson turns, and looks slightly more confused when he sees Chase. "Chase! What are you doing here? And what do you mean no one works here? It's a hotel. It has to have staff. It had staff this morning." Or at least the hotel he left at the same address had staff that morning.

"Not this one," he answered, smiling wryly. "And I don't know what I'm doing here. I appeared here, same as you."

"People don't just appear places." He shakes his head. Has Chase lost his mind? Or at least all common sense of physics and how the world works.

Warren is passing through and notices the lab coat. He grins amusedly. "Another doctor? At this rate we could probably open our own hospital or something."

Mun: Um...his wings aren't out. They're generally under his jacket when he's not actually using them, cause otherwise he'd have to go around shirtless all the time. >_> His shoulders and back may have an odd shape, but there's no feathers visible. Wilson's welcome to ask about the bumps on his back, though! :)

on an entirely unrelated note: eee, Wilson! :D

Typist: I tried replying via email, but apparently it didn't work, or it's taking a really long time. My basic point was: Oops! And pleading lateness of the hour for lack of thinking xD

Ianto appears behind the desk, a fresh cup of coffee in hand. For a brief second, before his features are pulled into a public-service-perfect expression, his eyes clearly say '--another one?' Instead, a measured voice says, "Hello." He has the good fortune to look as if he belongs there, as if he knows what's going on.

He jumps slightly at the new arrival suddenly appearing behind the desk. Aha. Obviously someone who works here. He gives Chase the obligatory 'See? I told you someone worked here!' look. Although it's not someone he recognizes from the hotel that he left this morning.

Turning back to Ianto, he briefly ponders how to ask about his room. "Hello. I'm apparently a little lost..."

Ianto smiles a little tightly. "That's looking a bit common." He glances at the room key which has just appeared on the desk-- Ianto is going to be looking for transmat technology later-- and then hands it to Wilson. "This'll be your room, then."

He glances at the key, and blinks. Now where did that come from? The staff- or at least this particular staff member, he supposed, must have an interest in sleight of hand. "Thank you, but I don't need a room. I'm already staying in another hotel. I just... apparently took a wrong turn somewhere."

House popped up from behind the desk (God only knows what he was doing back there) and smiled charmingly. "Can I help you?"

The random popping up from behind the desk causes Wilson to jump again, much to his displeasure. When it hits him that it's House, he just stares for a moment incredulously. "House? What are you doing?"

"Hiding from the insanity. What brings you here, good sir? Other hotel not serving kosher meals anymore?"

"You're going to have a hard time with that, given that you are insane." Wilson observes.

He may as well explain things and see if he can get some answers. Not that he's very optimistic about that at this point. "It was my hotel when I left this morning. It looked like the right place when right up until I opened the door. What is this place?"

And Cameron, on her way through the lobby to... somewhere, stops. "Hi, Dr. Wilson. You'll probably have keys behind the desk with your name on them."

He turns, looking mildly relieved when he sees Cameron. Because maybe, just maybe, here's someone who can give him a straight answer. "Hi. What's going on here?"

A straight answer, she's more than willing to give him. It's just that there isn't much of one. "I keep asking myself that, actually. Best I can tell, it's just a hotel in the middle of nowhere. People just... show up. But at least there's a beach."

"Just a hotel? In the middle of nowhere?" He repeats. "How did we get here? I thought I was walking into my hotel."

Wait. There's a beach? That could tell them where they are. "What kind of beach?"
