Another young woman sits near the bar, sipping something very bright and likely low in alcohol. She blinks at the new arrival and gets up.
"Evenin'."

The newcomer looks at the pretty little drink and leans against the bar. "Good! There's alcohol here!" she exclaims. "I'll take one of those," she says to the bartender.

"Seen any young men to buy drinks for?" she asks the other lady with a mischievious grin.

"Seen lots of young men, not talked to any yet. . . or a' least any who weren't either previously engaged or too stiff-collared to look our way," she pouts.

"Well, we'll just have to find some, then!" she replies, swirling the drink and giggling slightly madly.

"There's always the beach," offers Harry. He seldom goes into the bar, but he'd heard voices.

"There's a beach? How wonderful!" the woman says with a devious grin. "Maybe you can show me around. I'm sure we can have some fun."

"Yes, let's be off, then!" says Maria happily and reaches toward his elbow. "I'd love to see what you could show me."

"I'm not sure you can handle what I'd like," Maria says coyly.

"That's a bold statement." He gives a coy look of his own, peering through lowered lashes. "Especially since we haven't been introduced. I'm John Sheppard." And, with a touch of pride, "Lieutenant Colonel John Sheppard."

So many buttons to push and so little time. "Only a Lieutenant Colonel?"

Ianto gives this strange woman a rather wary glance. He's noticed something off about the way she carries herself, but has been unable to put a finger on it. It unsettles him in a way he cannot explain.

"You'll find something," he answers, quite dismissively, with a quick and mild smile before he turns back to shuffling papers.

"I always do!" the young woman says with a wild laugh before setting down a drink she's carried from somewhere on the edge of his papers.

This will earn her a reproachful expression and a meaningful glance between her and the drink. "Somehow," he comments dryly, "I am not surprised."

She gives him a pouty look before giggling again. "Oh, I'm just full of surprises."
