... we're okay?

Well.

Steve had been fresh from a meeting and was taking his three year old yellow lab, Dodger, for a walk. He had just gotten off the phone with Joanne and stuck his cellphone back in his pocket, juggling the dog leash from one hand to the other as he did so ( Read more... )

Gordon had taken to walking around outside lately. The fresh air calms his stomach and keeps his head from randomly aching, and it's nice to just ... Have time to himself. He gets irritable when he's not feeling his best, and the last thing he wants is to snap at someone. He was about to go a different when he heard a dog bark. Having not seen any dogs yet, he wondered if, for a moment, there's someone new and maybe he would feel up to talking to them.

Imagine his pleasant surprise when he saw the back of what was sure to belong to a familiar face. Steve didn't even get a hello before he got a hug. A relieved, somewhat exhausted, very happy best friend hug.

"What -- ?" Steve turns in the hug, then laughs and wraps his arms around Gordon, kissing his cheek. "Well hi to you, too! Sorry I had to run after the meeting, I had an appointment with a client I couldn't be late for." Gordon gets an affectionate hair ruffle, and a wide grin. "What are you doing here? What am I doing here?"

"Ngh." He takes a moment to just take in the fact that there's finally someone here he feels completely comfortable with, then pulls back a bit and puts on a grin. "I couldn't tell you. It's, um. It's messed up. Please don't ask me to explain." He laughs a bit, then bends down to give Dodger an equally affectionate hug and head scritch.

Dodger closes her eyes happily, then gives Gordon a slobbery hand kiss.

Steve, meanwhile, looks confused. "Okay -- I won't. But is there a way back to New York?"

"Steve!" Mimi's flopped on a couch, her nose in an old copy of Cosmo, but she looks up and grins. "Hey, when did you get here?" If he really looks at Mimi, he'd definitely be able to see a baby bump.

Steve smiles and waves -- and blinks a little a the babybump, but is polite enough not to bring it up unless she does. "Um, wow. Right now, I guess? Where's here?"

"A big fucking boat," she says cheerfully. "It's cool, pretty much everyone's here now."

"I was noticing the big fucking boat thing, yeah. Huh." He blinks a few times, "Everyone? Who's everyone?"

Hearing a dog--he loves animals and children--Armand looks for the source. He runs up and stops just outside of getting too close for comfort. "Bonjour!" he says cheerily, paying the dog as much mind as the man. As usual, he's a bit windblown and dishevelled, but cheerful as hell.

"Er -- bonjour!" He regrets having taken Spanish in highschool. That and his Italian are no help at all in greeting this Frenchman. "I'm sorry um -- I don't speak French. English?"

"Of course," says Armand and bows, which looks a little silly as scruffy as he looks right now. "I'm Armand. Where are you from?" He then crouches and holds a hand out for the dog to sniff.

Dodger snuffles at Armand's hand, and then licks it happily, approving of this new man.

Steve looks amused at the exchange, "I'm Steve Mariano. From New York. Nice to meet you, Armand."

Jo has gotten used to spending most of her time with the Bohos (okay, mostly Maureen,) so the appearance of someone else she knows is a bit of a surprise. She blinks, is silent a moment, then waves. "Hey. Didn't expect to see you here."

"Didn't really expect to be here, to be honest. But hi, how're you?" He smiles a little, still confused by this entire -- whatever this is.
