Hermione passes through the Mansion, and after collecting a cup of tea from the kitchen, she goes outside to enjoy the last bits of fall sunshine. She's folded her wings to as small as they'll get.

As she nurses her tea, she thinks things over. She would appreciate a friendly face to talk to, especially if it's an old friend's.

George steps outside for a bit of fresh air, anything to avoid Fred's corny flirtations with Max. Surveying the gardens, he notices Hermione tucked off to the side, and decides to keep her some company.

"Hey Hermione. Doing alright?" He plops down beside her.

She turns to look at George, the expression on her face one of sadness-but-not-grief.

"To tell you the truth... I don't know."

George frowns a little. "That's not on. What's going on? Does this have to do with..." He brings his voice down to a whisper, "A particularly tall, lanky git of a man I call brother?"

She nods.

"It is. It also has to do with this stubborn, bushy-haired witch you know."

She's not sure if she wants to burden Ginny with her troubles. Somehow, it's different, talking to Ginny. Especially since she's closest to Ron of all his siblings, and Hermione does think Ron might need the support of his siblings one of these days, too.

"... Oh, you know. The usual?"

*Ah, well, Ginny doesn't know what's going on yet!*

Is that good or bad?

"Actually... I don't know yet. It could really go either way..."

But something in her tone gives away that she -hopes- it'll turn out good.

After a small walk through the gardens, Fëanor (carrying Náriel) happens to pass the porch... and see Hermione. The return home will promptly be delayed so he can walk over and talk to her.

"Hello... are you all right?"

Having just finished talking to George, she's actually smiling a bit more.

"Oh... I think I'll be all right, but it's good to see you. And Náriel, too!"

"Only 'will be' all right?"

He smiles at Nár, who is doubtlessly staring at Mione avidly.

And it occurs to her that Feanor wouldn't know about what's going on, because she simply didn't tell him... yet. So, with a faint blush, she explains at last.

"Errmm... yes. I... moved out. Ron and I locked up the house, we're... attempting a trial separation. To... figure some things out. I was just talking to George about that." She indicates George who's since walked off.

"Which reminds me..." And she hesitates... "I... have something I'd like to ask you, if you don't mind?" She smiles at Náriel, not at all affected by the staring Elfling... she's quite used to baby-stares by now.
