I would think a nice but rare book on his favourite subject would be a good idea? Something that shows you made some effort, I suppose? I don't know... some anniversaries always struck me as being a bit different, and thus deserving a bit more attention? If that makes sense at all...
She gives him a "You really need to -ask- this?" look...
Harry, after a year of marriage... shouldn't that be -obvious-? She grins, then takes pity. I should think it would be either Potions or Dark Arts. But if you're asking me to name just one, then Potions.
You should find out what he likes to read about. I don't think rare or expensive need to be the point, but perhaps, like all gifts, it should be something he'd want but not buy for himself.
He does seem proud of his wizard lineage. Perhaps there are books on history and wizard laws that aren't dry like text books. Personally I would love to read about wizard laws but that's against your laws.
*looks a bit nervous* I guess I should pay more attention sometimes... Hmm... I think if he wanted something he'd just buy it so that makes it all a bit tricky.
That might be an idea, but from what I learned at school wizarding history is deadly boring. *slight grin* That might have been the teacher's fault though...
*thoughtfully* ... As it is a first, it is very special. I would suggest to 'pull out all the stops' as it were and do not hesitate to do something that might initially overly grand. You do only get to celebrate the first once... well, I suppose twice if a person were to be divorced and married again, but the magic of it would certain be diminished I would imagine.
Yeah, I want to do something special. Something different and memorable that we haven't already done. That's the tricky part. Besides, he seems to take so much luxury for granted that it's hard to surprise him with some thing spectacular. Maybe I should try for something simple but more meaningful.

Hm. It may be a bit hard to find something useful that he doesn't already have. I'll have to check it out.
