*smiles* I was going to suggest a book, too, but Hermione beat me to it.

But what sort of book is best? You might have a different idea?

You should find out what he likes to read about. I don't think rare or expensive need to be the point, but perhaps, like all gifts, it should be something he'd want but not buy for himself.

He does seem proud of his wizard lineage. Perhaps there are books on history and wizard laws that aren't dry like text books. Personally I would love to read about wizard laws but that's against your laws.

*looks a bit nervous* I guess I should pay more attention sometimes... Hmm... I think if he wanted something he'd just buy it so that makes it all a bit tricky.

That might be an idea, but from what I learned at school wizarding history is deadly boring. *slight grin* That might have been the teacher's fault though...

Well, aren't there books about why wizards and non-wizards have to stay so far apart?

Not that I know of. From what I heard there are two main reasons so I don't know if it needs a whole book on the topic. Some still think that a first instinct is to have witches or wizards burnt at the stake. The other is that the magical population seem afraid that those that don't want to kill us want to use us to make things easier for them. Like conjure up whatever people need as if it's all that easy for us to do just about anything just like that.

We've gotten along fairly well without you, if 'modern' standards can be considered. I admit, in my time, some magical conveniences would have come in handy. But you have to admit, wizards don't seem to have to work so hard to make the things they did to live.

Well, are there any books about the histories of the old families he seems to like so much? Or fine food or exotic places wizards can visit?

Yeah, I know muggles can get along perfectly well withut magic as well as some completely detest it and would rather it never existed. I grew up as a muggle with my Aunt and Uncle, who are very much non-magical...

Hmm, those sound promising. I guess I'll have to brave a bookshop and have a look. *sheepish grin*

It's not all extremes though. There are people who just don't know about it all and wouldn't care if they did.

*grins back* No animal stories. I'm sure you've noticed how much he hates animals.
