Her eyes rove the place as if she’s comfortable with suddenly finding herself in a new place (and she is, really, enough anyways) but curious as to what the place is, how she arrived there and why she is there

Well, I'm smarter than the average policeman, and there are many children, like yourself, who could use the services of a detective without the $50/hour fees of an adult. A quarter is always a reasonable price. I would say they appear under couch cushions, but that would be wrong. A quarter is minted from silver, copper, and steel at the US Treasury and shipped to banks. People who take rolls of quarters home from banks eventually lose the coins under the cushion. Very handy for children.
