Yes, yes, I'm still here, thank you all for noticing.

Anyway, seeing as I've got no applicable use to anybody around here, I've spent most of my time sitting about in a corner with my vastly capable logistical capacities gathering metaphorical dust. Being what I am, as much as that's worth, I rather have to do some kind of data processing in ( Read more... )

*picks up the gun and examines it* How long does this work, you say? And... is it safe?

I don't know, maybe three or four minutes at most times, although I don't doubt it could be modified.

As for safe, that entirely depends on whose point of view is being forced onto whom.

Typist: *pokes back* I know! *GRINS*

This appears to be a useful tool. I shall keep it in mind for the next time Ron doesn't understand me... again

I'm certainly in no position to stop you. I'm surprised anyone noticed my existence long enough to take any notice of it.

I think the best thing to do with this is to hand it over to Mr. Prouvaire as soon as possible.

However, I'm not touching it.

Typist: At least it's not the Lazy Gun from Iain M. Banks's Against a Dark Background. Actually, someone should bring in Lady Sharrow and the Lazy Gun, because that would just be entirely too amusing.

Don't ask me, nobody ever tells me anything.

Oh. I had hoped that with your phenomenal amount of brain mass you might have figured it out by yourself. Not? Alas...

The gun was designed by the second greatest computer ever created. I'm a robot.

Besides, I had no reason to believe that anybody would bother asking it. I can come up with the answer, with a little time; but I'm afraid I can't figure out what you'll want me to calculate before you ask me for it.

have you tried using Mozilla's IRC chat plugin to get in the chat, or try it through Trillian? or did your campus block ALL forms of IRC?

I have a Mac, so I can't do Trillian. I have one third-party IM program but it doesn't do IRC. :/ I emailed the IT helpdesk on campus last night, saying I was having trouble with it and asking if I needed to change some settings, and pretending I didn't know they had it blocked. I really have no idea.

Have you tried using IRCle? I'm on a Mac and it works okay for me.
