Hullo. My name is Sherlock Holmes. Doubtless you've heard of me, though I'm certain to be misunderstood amidst the din of cliches which my words have become

Perhaps we may get together and have a conversation sometime. It is always pleasant to converse with those who have likeminded views.
I am flattered, of course. I should like to thank her, however I must protest that Watson is far too kind in his writings about me, and so she is probably in love with some lovely dream that doesn't really exist.
I should look forward to it, Mr. Holmes. I confess myself somewhat interested in the deductive reasoning of your line of work and surely you, unlike that Scotland Yard fellow that trailed me from Calcutta to London, will not mistake me for a bank robber or something of the kind.
I do not think she meant an admirer of the romantic sort, sir, though she seems to be somewhat pleased that you should think so. I believe she wished to convey an intellectual admiration, although admittedly her word choice is usually poor in these matters. She wishes to defend Dr. Watson's literary interpretations, though she does confess she sees your point on occasion, mainly in the later case files. He is your friend, though, and I suppose a certain amount of whitewashing is understandable.
As my line of work consists of nothing but deductive reasoning, I am certain you shall not be dissapointed.
Yes, he did try to smooth me over a bit so as to save the public from offence. I suppose one so forgiving is allowed to do such a thing from time to time. Poor words do often veil great intelligence. I should hope she does not feel bad about this.
Holmes, my good fellow! Of course I had to set about seeking you out right away. Have you been getting my telegrams? I had hoped that you might and that they might convince you to join this community.
*chuckles* And on your "annoying" habits, old friend-- if I can put up with you, surely this lot can?
...anyway. Hello, Mr. Holmes. It's wonderful to have you here. I do hope that this community will be able to occupy you. Personally, I find it a little too engaging at times.
It is rather engaging, in a strange sort of way. A good chnge from having little to nothing of which to hold my attention to. [Though my typis is rather unhelpful in deciphering this strange way of conversing in symbols.]
*stops, stares* *begins to shake and clasp his hands slightly*
Ah, I've heard of you! So you're here at last! Why have you come here, sir, eh, I'd like to know? Do you suppose you have a purpose here? Do you suppose there is a reason for you to come? Do you? Do you indeed? I tell you we have no need of you here! We have no need of detectives here! Do you suppose that some crime has been comitted here? Ha, ha! --Don't look at me! I see you looking at me! Go away! Go away! Stop looking at me! I hate that! *stares fiercely and steps backwards* Oh, you think there is something to find out, I suppose that's why you're here! To find out? What do you imagine there is to find out? There is nothing wrong! There is nothing to suspect! Ha, ha, indeed, I myself could tell you--stop looking at me! You look at me--do you think you have something to see in my face? Do you think I look guilty? I tell you I have nothing to fear! I am guilty of nothing! I have a thousand good deeds to do! Do not look at me, do not look at me! I hate you! Go away
( ... )
Worry! What have I to worry about? I am not worried at all! Do you suppose me to be guilty of something for which I must worry? Pah! I am not at all afraid of you! *twitch* I merely wish to heaven you would stop looking at me! Can you not turn your face? Stop! Stop!
My face, good sir, never sees this screen, as I simply have my typist read or take dictaion for me. Can't take my eyes off of any more important work for something that is simple amusement.
Ah, Mister Holmes. An absolute pleasure to meet you. Jack Seward, at your service, of course. I do hope we shall have a chance to get better aquainted, although your colleague currently thinks very little of me due to some nasty habits of my own.

My secretary has been reading Dr. Watson's casebooks and is quite an admirer of yours, if she does not mind me saying so.

A little overzealous are we?
On theh contrary, I am currently not employed in my usual profession. You have no need to worry...at the moment.
