Today's the day

There's a small little woman on the mansion grounds.  In complete silence, she performs the routine she's been practicing for years, now.  Her eyes are intent on the absent target, her mind is focused on what she is doing, but when she strikes, she cuts the quiet as violently as her hit, her jab or her kick would find its target.

The short cries ( Read more... )

Is Anita listening behind her, very quietly? There is a wolf stalking her, but only to a certain distance, when she breaks into a bounding run to jump at Anita's back. Ferociously. Though the most dangerous bit of her is currently probably the swish of her thick tail.

Whoa, she's totally tackled, and she falls in a mess of hair and wolf, with a bit of a screech of surprise. "Heeeeey!"

Firekeeper rolls off her, and licks her face, gleefully. I got you I got you I got you!

She laughs, then, rolls over to get her off. "Oh, Firekeeper!"

Lying back with his dark head resting on a rock, eyes up at the sky, Daeron would appear to not be paying attention at all. In fact, he is watching Anita, with half lazy curiosity, the thoughtfulness even more pronounced, eyes a little brighter, perhaps, than they've been in a very long time. More alive.

Anita hasn't seen any elves in a long, long, long time. She might eventually take notice that someone is around, but as he's not watching her directly, she'll keep up what she's doing until she takes a break and reaches for some water.

"You're fairly good at that," that's Daeron, ever the effusive complimenter.

She looks up, finishes to gulp down her water. "Thanks," she replies, examining him, a little. "Didn't know I had an audience. I might have made a couple somersaults, had I known."

The usual suspect, wandering outside, hands shoved in his pockets and slouching. Something is making him nervous, but he can't pin it down and is trying to dismiss it as paranoia - not that implausible, all things considered. After all, no Auphe. That's enough to give him more than a little pause.

He notices Anita, and pauses, but doesn't move to join her, just frowning and watching for the moment, quiet for once.

She's going to finish her routine, then, and once that's done, she'll wander over.

"Hey," she offers, by way of greeting.

He smiles, a little thing, for her. "Hey. Keeping busy, I guess?"

"Hey." She smiles, sweeter, for him. "Yeah, taking some time for myself. How's the little brother?" She reaches, to offer him a hug.

"Pretty good form. What's the style?"

Mercy is sitting on the porch, where there almost certainly wasn't anyone before, just newly changed, and without the resulting inconvenient nakedness. Bonus of being a walker rather than were. It relaxed her, though, the run, so even if she hasn't had good honest work in too long...

Still be curious, though.

She looks over, and pauses, then. "Judo, actually," she replies. Wait, I know this person. "Whoa, long time no see, Mercy."

A nod. "I've never had the discipline for martial arts. It's more - what do they call it? Street-style." Her grin is a little self-deprecating. "Yeah, I know. You too."

She gives her a grin, beckons her over. "I'm due for a break. You wanna share my water?"

Lucivar likes to keep you on your toes, Anita. If he can move fast enough, coming in from his evening flight, to come down and catch her arm halfway through a punch, perhaps throwing her off balance, he will.

That was totally unexpected, and she will tumble to the ground with a yelp - she has no clue what hit her until.... "LUCIVAR!"

He grins at her. "Keep an ear toward your back, Anita."

"Don't have more than two eyes, big guy," she replies, chuckling, as she stands. "Besides, I'm practicing technique, not tactics, right now."
