Introducing...

Fair Luthien walked slowly through a meadow. The sky was blue and the wind smelled of summer. The tall grass reached her knees, although she didn't mind. She made her way through the meadow, having no idea where or why she was walking the way she was.

There was a small copse of trees at the edge of the meadow, and she started for it, wanting to ( Read more... )

Completing the elven invasion is Caranthir, who is a shorter version of his freakishly tall brother Celegorm, and who is --- will you believe it? --- calmly sitting on the porch and playing cards.

Then again, he has less baggage than his brothers, having actually not been through the last horrors of the sack : he arrived at the Mansion during his flight to Amon Ereb. And well. He's proven responsible lately. Go figure.

Luthien continued to admire the strange architecture of the mansion, unsure quite how she felt about it. She then noticed Caranthir sitting on the porch, and she hesitated, watching him. She couldn't quite remember meeting this man although she felt instant dislike for him.

When he catches sight of her, he almost whistles, but instead, he stands, and bows, quite stiffly.

"Lady."

We don't blame you, Luthien. Caranthir is a violent boy - but he's been known to grow on some people, go figure.

She pressed her lips together, until they were a thin line. "Good afternoon." She said simply, eyes full of distrust although she knew that she had not met this man before.

Cleeg? Seriously hates timing. He's been brooding about this pretty much since Huan ditched and he realized that oh waaaaait. And it's only gotten worse, really, all tangled up with the Finrod-guilt and the twin-guilt and everything else, and now this.

Of course, he wasn't expecting it. He's just coming back from walking, thinking, and thinking hard (it's difficult, he's not used to it) when a small noise gets his attention and his head lifts abruptly. One thing you can say for Luthien is that she's distinctive.

He stops dead, chest seizing up hard. No. Nonono, he's mad again, she's an illusion because he's been thinking about it, that's all. Because it's infinitely better than the alternative.

So - hi! Here's a very tall, dark haired, handsome elfthing, staring at you in something like horror. He's awfully recognizable.

Luthien continued to stare at the mansion, continued to wonder about why she was here, why this mansion was here, and why she herself had been brought here. She turned her head to take in the grounds which she had stumbled into, and saw a figure that looked very familiar. She hesitated, and once she had stopped and looked at him dead on realized that he was staring at her in horror. There was only one person who could have that expression. Cleeg. She walked towards him, determinedly.

---oh. Great. Great.

He barely holds his ground, but does, with some effort. Staring at her still. Hallucination! Definitely. Totally hallucination. He can work with that assumption.

Even if his stomach's just dropped out and he can't breathe properly. Can totally handle this. Of course.

With an effort, he schools his face to stillness.

She walked towards him confidently. "Celegorm." She said, her tone cold and bitter. She was remembering exactly what he had done to her. Before she had escaped from him.

Well, she has to meet someone from a different universe. Samuel Spade is standing on the porch, smoking. He's frowning a bit, lost in thought, his fedora tilted low enough to shadow his eyes. He raises an angular eyebrow at the new arrival. "...afternoon, gorgeous."

Welcome. ^^

Luthien noticed Samuel Spade on the porch, and approached him hesitantly. "Good afternoon." She said calmly, wondering who this man was, for he was dressed so differently from all she knew.

"You got the look of a person just dumped in a strange place without warning, angel." He tilts the feodra back a bit with his thumb, letting her get a better look at him. "Believe me, I'd know by now."

And...since she obviously needs another detective from a different universe, Professor James Moriarty is reading a rather interesting treatise on the movement of light rays through ether...

"Good evening, ma'am."

OOC: You'll love it here. We're all mad. :)

Luthien walked up hesitantly to Professor James Moriarty, eying him, curious. "Good evening." She said calmly.

"Welcome to the Mansion. I expect you'll find it a bit strange here."

Which is putting it very lightly, really...
