Fair Luthien walked slowly through a meadow. The sky was blue and the wind smelled of summer. The tall grass reached her knees, although she didn't mind. She made her way through the meadow, having no idea where or why she was walking the way she was.

There was a small copse of trees at the edge of the meadow, and she started for it, wanting to ( Read more... )

Cleeg? Seriously hates timing. He's been brooding about this pretty much since Huan ditched and he realized that oh waaaaait. And it's only gotten worse, really, all tangled up with the Finrod-guilt and the twin-guilt and everything else, and now this.

Of course, he wasn't expecting it. He's just coming back from walking, thinking, and thinking hard (it's difficult, he's not used to it) when a small noise gets his attention and his head lifts abruptly. One thing you can say for Luthien is that she's distinctive.

He stops dead, chest seizing up hard. No. Nonono, he's mad again, she's an illusion because he's been thinking about it, that's all. Because it's infinitely better than the alternative.

So - hi! Here's a very tall, dark haired, handsome elfthing, staring at you in something like horror. He's awfully recognizable.

Luthien continued to stare at the mansion, continued to wonder about why she was here, why this mansion was here, and why she herself had been brought here. She turned her head to take in the grounds which she had stumbled into, and saw a figure that looked very familiar. She hesitated, and once she had stopped and looked at him dead on realized that he was staring at her in horror. There was only one person who could have that expression. Cleeg. She walked towards him, determinedly.

---oh. Great. Great.

He barely holds his ground, but does, with some effort. Staring at her still. Hallucination! Definitely. Totally hallucination. He can work with that assumption.

Even if his stomach's just dropped out and he can't breathe properly. Can totally handle this. Of course.

With an effort, he schools his face to stillness.

She walked towards him confidently. "Celegorm." She said, her tone cold and bitter. She was remembering exactly what he had done to her. Before she had escaped from him.

Tyelko, on the other hand, is anything but confident. Her tone very nearly makes him flinch, but he stays where he is. He deserves her judgment, her condemnation. If she is real. Deserves whatever she can throw.

The slight inclination of his head is nothing more than acknowledgment. "Luthien," proud of the evenness in his voice, even for the low, rough edge that family members would know means he's close to breaking.

She smiled slightly, knowing that he too remembered what he had done to her. "How is it that I escaped you twice, and yet find myself once again with you?" She asked, her tone remaining bitter and cold.

He forces himself not to look away. "Ill luck, I suppose." Even, calm. Not letting himself look away.

"Ill luck indeed." She answered coldly. "What unfortunate place have I fallen into?" She asked him, her tone still bitter and unforgiving.

His mouth twists, wanting so badly to just leave. What does he have to say to her? Apologies would be ludicrous. He'd sooner spend as little time as possible around her. And Irisse - his beautiful Irisse-

"One without a proper name."

"A place must always have a proper name." She said coldly. "Or is this simply a place with many names?" She asked, wondering if he was the only one here. How unfortunate that would be if that were true.

"The Mansion' is the nearest I can think of." Still carefully quiet.

"And how have you come to be here?" She half asked, half demanded. If she was here, surely it was a place in which ones like Celegorm should not.

"I died."

It comes out rougher, sharper, than he wanted it to, but it's still not pleasant thinking about. I died, and got fucked over by Morgoth after having my siblings issues unloaded on me.

But of course, the rest of it is excuses. Cleeg doesn't do those.

"Is this place, a part of your afterlife? For surely it cannot be mine, and I do doubt that it is yours. It is too strange and beautiful to be fitting for yours" She said bitterly.

Tyelko: was expecting that! Sooner or later. He allows a slight turn of his head away, mouth tightening. Anything but paradise.

"I don't know. There hasn't been anyone to ask." With a slight touch of bitter himself. This Elf has lost all faith in the Valar, more or less.

She shot a glare at Celegorm. "Surely I am not stuck with you in this limbo." She said, inwardly groaning at the thought.
