Promoting Understanding

Khary saw one of these a while ago, and he thinks it's a great idea. So on a table on the first floor is a replica, though a little odd looking though he got most of the general ideas right, of something sort of like a gun, but much less menacing looking. Khary made it lime green and conspicuous. Because he's Khary.

There are bonus chocolates that ( Read more... )

If anyone would like some crazy, there's an elf standing there looking down at the thing in his hands, frowning, and feeling a little twinge of melancholy. Because last time he saw one of those...was really when things started to change in the way that got him where he is now.

And not touching the chocolates.

So here's an Iphi walking by, because typist enjoys being cruel to little ingenues. And she's going to wave to Cleeg awkwardly, because when are their interactions not awkward?

Um, never? When are Cleeg's interactions with almost anyone not awkward? Except Irisse.

And because elves are bad with POV guns, Iphi is going to get a shot of crazy. Most immediately noticeable is probably the ridiculous amounts of depressed, so much that he's kind of acclimated to it. He hasn't been really happy in a long time. And then there's the incapacitating guilt over a wide variety of things, most of which don't make much sense, and there's worries about various people; brothers, Iphi, Irisse, and always somewhere in the back of his mind the memories that don't leave of darkness and pain and waiting for Morgoth to come back, hoping that this time he'll finish him.

Cleeg has a fun brain.

...Ack. That's...intense.

She sort of stumbles backwards, wide-eyed and a little scared. "Oh...oh my..."

Felix has never run across one of these before? And is kind of half drunk, so he picks it up and is examining the various levers and bells and whistles (so to speak) and probably a hazard to himself and others. In a POV gun kind of way.

Mildmay and Felix may not be very good at talking to each other, but the Fox is incurably curious and he's hever seen something like that before. He can't quite decide whether the thing looks dangerous, or just odd. "What's that?"

Felix looks up and kind of blinks. "I haven't the least idea," almost lightly, but tensing, and it's quite possible that he sets it off just with that movement. After all, he has no idea what it is.

When the thing goes off Mildmay looks almost as if he's been struck, his eyes open wide and he goes very pale. It makes the scar on his face stand out even more, and he shudders, losing his grip on his cane which clatters loudly to the ground. He just stares at Felix for a moment, badly shaken. "Fuck. You--fuck." He lurches forward, reaching for the thing. "Put the damned thing down."

Echo floats past, the shiny thing on the table catching her eye. She gasps softly, her eye widening in wonder as she approaches it. With her thin arms, she picks it up, nearly sinking under it. We recommend you stay away from the mute mountain nymph.

Caranthir walks in, and upon seeing the device, toys with it, curiously. It's definitely a weapon, but what in the world could it be for? He's examining the aim, but he's twitchy.

Never know what can happen if someone startles him.

Celebrimbor walks in, in a reasonably good mood coming from his forge, but he stops cold when he sees Caranthir standing there. "Uncle."

Aaaaaaaand here goes, twitchy uncle is involuntarily trigger happy.

And uploads his issues onto the nephew.

The main thing that occupies Caranthir's motivations is Celebrimbor's safety. He's been updated by Celegorm, and he feels compelled to protect him. He definitely sees a similarity between Lydia and Sauron at least in the way she charmed his nephew, but under that, there's an underlayer of paranoia and distrust, fueled by the recent Melisande affair, his own rejection by Haleth, and the fact that Angrod has... largely disappeared.

Galadriel is in the room. She remembers this thing, and she's staying away from it... quite adamantly. She would like to stay sane, please. Truly.

Fingon has no such recollection. And wanders in from outside, and picks it up, looking at it. "What is this thing?"

Galadriel makes an eloquent (and now well known) Finwean hand gesture.

"It is that... thing.... I told you about."

"That - thing?" He turns it to look at it, and being an elf and therefore failing, sets it off instead.
