Seeing double? (Intro)

Dec 17, 2008 01:47

There are two, not one, two elflings on the porch of the Mansion.  They are actually rather happy children, about eight years old, and talking to each other in a sing-song joyful verse of Sindarin.

They don't seem bothered by the fact that the cold is a bit chilly, or by their presence on the Mansion door.  Their clothes are tattered and soiled, ( Read more... )

Firekeeper comes padding out of the woods and over to them, and says, promptly, in wolfish, Puppies should not be outside, it is winter. Puppies go inside.

Unfortunately, these puppies have been living outside for a bit, now.

"We're fine," says one. The little animals are a bit scurrying, Firekeeper. "And you're scaring our friends away," points out the other.

Firekeeper gives them a derisive look and woofs. They are silly. I am not going to eat anything. And it is the cold season, where are you going to find food if you have no Pack?

"They are our pack," Elured replies, "And they take care of us, they have for years," continues Elurin.

Well, Cleeg wasn't expecting that. He was just coming back from the latest of epic broodathon and is headed outside, most likely to practice with Cara, slightly distracted as usual. Opens the door, steps out.

And stops, frozen. Because that's just - okay. So.

Okay.

Can so deal with this.

Not really. Frozen in the doorway, staring at them, horrified, mouth shaping the word "no" - they can't really be there. He's seeing things. He's mad, he must be mad, they're not there...

Mua ha ha.

And those two little ones are completely oblivious, until a little bird comes to rest on Elured's shoulder, and draws his attention.

They don`t really recognize him, but they are in general uneasy around big elven males.

Elurin mutters. "Hello." In Sindarin.

It takes him a moment to translate, to remember. They're talking. Oh Eru, they're talking. They're real? They must be real. And ow, something hurts, he thought he was all healed but apparently not there's something sticking badly in his gut.

"...hello." His voice is quiet, with a slightly rough edge. This is not not a happy Tyelko.

The little birds and the little beasts seem to flutter around the boys - maybe protectively, maybe not.

One of them asks, "Who are you?" They don't remember him clearly - maybe he is a friend, maybe he is a foe.

Have an adopted Feanorian! Large and scary and towering and - grinning as he steps out on the front porch, eyes the color of melted butter and absolutely a melted Lucivar. Kiiiiids.

"Well, hello there."

We unfortunately do not have a O.O icon for the boys.

But basically, they just hug each other and stare, until one of the small beasts mutters something to them. They don't stop holding onto each other, but they do manage to say.

"Hello, there." In unison, and in Sindarin.

He sits down, crosses his legs, and leans back against the wall, not coming any closer, still kind of smiling. "Nice to meet you. Did you just get here?"

"Yes, but this is the second time!" One of them replies, the other is quietly examining him.

Holyfuckwhat?

He's been successfully avoiding everyone for a while, but just going out on the porch...he knows those kids. Except how they're definitely dead.

"...."

And these kids know him! He's getting a pounce attack from them !

"Uncle Daeron! Uncle Daeron! A story, a story!"

Little animals are not really going away.

The elder set of Elven twins is walking out the door and one freezes so abruptly as he sees the children that the other takes a few more steps before stopping as well and looking back at his twin. The questions and answers that pass between the two are as silent as the younger pair. Then the second twin, nearer the children, approaches them quietly. "Hello."

The boys looks over - and freeze, a little. They're.... not sure what to do. The birds and the bees say it's alright, but their trust is hard to gain. One of them says...

"Hello."

But the other is not looking. He's still angry.

Awww, boys. He smiles at them, encouragingly. "My name is Telvo, that's my twin Pityo over there." He glances back at his twin, who looks away, pale. "What are your names?"

The angry twin looks back, and before the not angry twin has a chance to stop him, says, very pissed off, "Well ask your brother. He knows." Pouty face is pouty - and the other twin just hugs his brother, and throws Telvo an apologetic glance.
