Seeing double? (Intro)

There are two, not one, two elflings on the porch of the Mansion.  They are actually rather happy children, about eight years old, and talking to each other in a sing-song joyful verse of Sindarin.

They don't seem bothered by the fact that the cold is a bit chilly, or by their presence on the Mansion door.  Their clothes are tattered and soiled,

The elder set of Elven twins is walking out the door and one freezes so abruptly as he sees the children that the other takes a few more steps before stopping as well and looking back at his twin. The questions and answers that pass between the two are as silent as the younger pair. Then the second twin, nearer the children, approaches them quietly. "Hello."

The boys looks over - and freeze, a little. They're.... not sure what to do. The birds and the bees say it's alright, but their trust is hard to gain. One of them says...

"Hello."

But the other is not looking. He's still angry.

Awww, boys. He smiles at them, encouragingly. "My name is Telvo, that's my twin Pityo over there." He glances back at his twin, who looks away, pale. "What are your names?"

The angry twin looks back, and before the not angry twin has a chance to stop him, says, very pissed off, "Well ask your brother. He knows." Pouty face is pouty - and the other twin just hugs his brother, and throws Telvo an apologetic glance.

Pityo flinches and turns farther away. Telvo winces a little. "I'd wondered if you recognized us. That must make you two Elured and Elurin." He pauses and takes a deep breath. "I know what happened to you back then was terrible, but my brother feels very bad about what happened, and we'd like to start over if you'll let us." Which isn't entirely true, but he'll make it happen for Telvo.

The boys seem to be in disagreement as to what to do with this. They are going to go, and hold a caucus. For a while. And they start right away, in whispers that are punctuated with little animal-like cries.

Telvo moves back to his twin to give them more space and wraps an arm around Pityo as he watches them. The elder twin leans into his brother, still not looking towards the children.

The caucus takes a while - in fact, it takes a long time, and finally, one of the twins stands and comes closer with a small escort of animals.

"We don't agree. I will speak with you. Maybe later he will be less angry, but for now, you can talk to me without him."

The boys don't seem to be angry at each other, though - having only each other for a couple years, they know how to compromise.

Telvo comes a little closer to him, still smiling. "I'm glad, I hope he'll come around." He glances toward the angry twin, then back to the one talking to him. "Would you and your brother like to come inside? It's getting colder out, and maybe inside we could get you something to eat."

"It's alright. We went inside already with the wolf. Don't worry, we have friends, here." He grins. "We met the Eyren."

Apparently, Elurin is fascinated with Lucivar. Elured is sulking in a corner, and not moving.

"The wolf?" He's surprised and even Pityo looks up in concern, but they both relax at the mention of the Eyrien. "You met Lucviar? That's good. He's a very good friend of ours, our adopted brother. If you ever need anything, he'll be able to help you."

Elurin frowns, and looks back - did his brother hear that? If he did, he's not reacting - maybe he got too busy with the brooding.

"Shhhhh. Don't say that." He looks at Elured with a bit of worry. "He won't want to talk to him if he hears you."

Pityo steps forward enough to put a hand on his twin's shoulder, they look at each other a moment before Telvo nods and Pityo moves away, vanishing into the mansion. Telvo turns back to Elurin and nods, lowering his voice. "I won't say anything else about it. But you can trust him, for anything."

Elurin nods, reassuringly. "It's okay. He's sorry, I can see. It's not his fault the servant got lost. That's what I told my brother."

He's so cutely innocent too, as he says it.

It breakes his heart a little, having already heard Pityo's angry rant about the whole event. And while he suspects that Pityo wasn't as responsible for it all as he was telling Tyelko, he also knows that his twin isn't as sorry as Elurin thinks. "That's...that's right." He smiles. "Why don't you come inside, maybe we can find someone that your brother will trust more than us."

He looks at him, and then at Elured. "We... I don't like to be away from him. Sorry. But we can talk here, if you want. It's okay, really. Uncle Daeron is here."
