"Are you alright, Monsieur?" He's already fetching his kit.

He's a little surprised, but nods. "I am, yes. Could you tell me where this is?"

"Very likely, not where you come from," he says, a bit sheepish. "No-one seems to really know."

A slight frown. "It seems rather odd that no one here would know about where this place is."

"I was at the foot of Orodruin, where a great battle has only just ended." He frowns. "I must return there, as soon as possible."

He frowns slightly at the look in her eye, but nods. "I have."

There's a sadness in his eyes when she asks that. "Victory perhaps for a time, but it rarely seems glorious to those still on the battlefield."

And Sugar will be stopping in her tracks a moment, and staring, while a scared little Sophie hides under her skirt.

When he notices them his bearing eases and his hand falls away from the sword. He would never mean to frighten them, especially the little girl. He offers the child a slight smile, he's got a very friendly manner really, despite the armor and blood.

Sugar is braver than her ward, and so while the girl is still hiding behind her, she asks, "Is everything well, sir?"

Because, you know, blood and stuff.

He nods. "Yes. I apologize for my appearance, I was ...elsewhere, not long ago."

He doubletakes just slightly at the talking leopard, because that is not something that one sees every day either. Perhaps seven years of seige are finally getting to him.
