The Elvish invasion continues, now in the form of a dark haired elf standing outside the mansion, looking very confused. He's obviously just come from battle, he's still dressed in armor, streaked with sweat and dirt and soot and blood. It's mostly not his. One hand rests on the sword at his hip, but it remains sheathed for now. His past few ( Read more... )

And Sugar will be stopping in her tracks a moment, and staring, while a scared little Sophie hides under her skirt.

When he notices them his bearing eases and his hand falls away from the sword. He would never mean to frighten them, especially the little girl. He offers the child a slight smile, he's got a very friendly manner really, despite the armor and blood.

Sugar is braver than her ward, and so while the girl is still hiding behind her, she asks, "Is everything well, sir?"

Because, you know, blood and stuff.

He nods. "Yes. I apologize for my appearance, I was ...elsewhere, not long ago."

Sugar pets Sophie a little. "He's no scarier than uncle Lucivar, darling, you see?" The girl look at Elrond with curious eyes, now.

"No doubt that you were, sir," she says, having soothed the girl a little. "Are you in need of assistance?"

The girl gets another small smile before he answers Sugar. "If you could tell me how to return from whence I came I would be grateful."

"I'm afraid I cannot," she says, softly. "There is no way to my knowledge, that this can be done."

Sophie peeks out.

"Why are you so dirty, sir?" Bold, here we go.

"It was possible to come here, it must be possible to open the door again in the other direction." He stoops to be more on Sophie's level as he answers. "Because I was not in so nice a place before I arrived here." To put things ridiculously mildly.

Sophie nods, wide eyed. She gets the understatement.

"That would be something magic, sir. I am only an English girl from Marylebone. Perhaps the Blood would help you, but I honestly do not know."

"The Blood?" He frowns, that sounds more like the Dark Lord's creatures than a potential ally. "Who are they?"

"A powerful family who dwells here." She smiles. "They have taken us under their wing," so very literally speaking in the case of Lucivar. "Their Queen, Jaenelle Angelline, is fair and just. If it is in her power to help you, she will."

Sophie nods enthusiastically. "Don't be afraid of uncle Lucivar, he's really nice."

He'll reserve judgement on them for now until he's met them. He has no idea that Lucivar has already adopted a couple of his....uncles, let's go with that. He nods. "I will see what I can learn of them, thank you."

Neither does Sugar, actually - she only knows about "adopted little brothers", but not who they are.

"You are welcome, sir." A small pause. "I'm sorry, are you an elf?"

He's a little surprised by the question, because where he's from it's kind of obvious. "I am, yes."

Well, yes, but the only one she's ever met is Mae, and he had red hair, and he wasn't covered in gore, or in armor.

She nods. "Do you remember, Sophie, Mister Elrond is an Elf, like Mister Maedhros."

Sophie smiles. "He was niiiice."

Yes, we know, it's weird.

At that particular moment anyway, though he has been in the past, and often.

Another smile for the little girl. "Yes, he is. I know Maedhros well."
