It seems that Dinadan grew into his awkward looks sometime in his teens, for the small, freckled boy whose sleeves are a bit too long might actually be called cute. He's just watching people pass, and does not seem to shy at all from laughing if someone particularly strangely dressed happens by-- which is fairly often, from his medieval standpoint. It is the laugh that is the same now as it always will be.

"Then you didn't have to travel far when you married."

"Is this nicer than London?"

"It is a good deal prettier. London is full of houses and streets and hardly any trees or flowers at all."

"That can be nice, too."

"Oh, yes. But I grew up in India, and it was very lovely there. I do like London, but it has always seemed a little drab."

"Terribly far away. It is on another continent entirely."
