You'll be the death of me.

Edward is Concerned. He's not seen Bella since she arrived, which means (in his mind) she's lying dead somewhere that he somehow hasn't looked yet. He's searched the grounds dozens of times, but hasn't seen her. It's times like these he wishes he could hear her thoughts the most. The thought, of course, had crossed his mind that perhaps she didn't ( Read more... )

Firekeeper is wandering through the mansion, looking a bit lonely and a little disturbed. For the first time since she came here, she's begun to miss Blind Seer. When she hears the piano, she puts her hands over her ears and pads to see what is happening, and watches Edward with a little bit of amusement and a little annoyance. "What did it ever do to you?"

"It looked at me strangely." He gave her a half-smile and paused in his playing. "What are you up to, pup? Did I bother you?"

"Firekeeper," she corrects him. "I'm less of a pup than you, whelp." She looks amused, though. "It was too loud."

"Whelp? I'm one hundred and seven, thank you. And I was playing loudly because I'm frustrated."

Jaenelle comes in from the kitchen and winces slightly at the noise, but tilts her head at the distress. "Excuse me," she inquires in a soft voice. "Sir, is something wrong?"

Even if his ears weren't more sensitive than normal human ears, he likely would have heard her thoughts anyway. He stops and looks apologetic, "Forgive me, I'm being entirely too loud, aren't I?"

She gives him a small smile. "A bit, but it's all right. I'm used to rather a lot of noise."

"No -- forgive me, it was rude. I don't always realize how... forcefully I play." He gives her a polite half-bow from his seat at the piano bench. "I'm not sure we've met before, ma'am."

Lucivar comes in from outside, whistling under his breath and looking rather unusually cheerful, and blinks at the loud piano, eyebrow lifting slightly, but says nothing as he flops down in a chair, rustles his wings and starts pulling off his shoes.

Edward raises his eyebrow at this strange -- well person, he supposes, though he's unsure as to the species. He plays softer, but doesn't stop completely.

Lucivar's head turns and he lifts his eyebrows right back, his shoulders tensing imperceptibly. At least he doesn't smell exactly like Lestat, then Edward would really be in trouble. For now, though, he just examines Edward with golden eyes and pulls off one boot before moving on to the other.

Edward gives him a golden eyed look right back, his fingers pausing over the piano, "May I help you?"

David's taking a light stroll when he's attracted by the music, and follows it to ascertain its source. He stops just a few steps from the piano and applauds at an appropriate moment.

"Bravo, such wonderful playing, Sir."

Edward had heard him coming -- though it was more faintly than he liked. Just snatches of thoughts here and there. God, that was always frustrating. But he turns to look, nonetheless, and smiles politely.

"Why thank you. Some were complaining it was too loud, which is entirely possible."

"Perhaps I might have agreed had the music not been so pleasant to the ears." He smiles, and discreetly sizes him up.

"Forgive me, I don't believe we've had the pleasure before. I'm David, David Talbot." He steps forward and holds out a hand towards him.

"Ah!" Edward shakes his hand with an exclamation of recognition. "Nicolas' David?" He smiles, "I've heard of you."

The sound of piano is what catches his ear, and he has to think for a minute before he follows it. Maybe it's the poor piano playing that sways the jury in his mind; it sounds almost like how he plays, only less enthusiastic. He seeks out the musician and approaches him with a cautious smile. "What are you playing?" Because to Georg, this counts. Maybe he's practicing.

Edward switches over to a much more gentler playing of Fur Elise, smiling faintly at Georg. "Something I wrote myself. It was too loud, I know, I'm sorry."

"Oh, that's my favorite." He smiles, and now he feels embarrassed and out of place. He's a much better piano player than he ever was. Is? He hasn't decided if he wants to keep fiddling with it yet. ... What was the subject? RIGHT, this person. "You play very well."

"Is it? It's a good song," he smirks, quietly amused. "Thank you. Are you new here?" He nearly refers to Georg by his name, but realizes in time that that's usually rather unsettling, to bring things up that people haven't said out loud.
