Re-Introduction

Nov 13, 2007 19:38

As if she'd never been "missing," (which from her point of view she hasn't been), Marguerite Blakeney returns to the Mansion. She arrives bundled in a heavy cloak against the cold, her elaborately-dressed hair mussed by the wind, but with a glow to her cheeks and a sparkle in her bright blue eyes.

She looks around the main room expectantly, hoping ( Read more... )

This is a Lucivar, looking rather asleep in the main room, leaned back with his eyes closed until she comes in, upon which his eyes snap open and he turns his had to look at her very intently, his wings rustling a little in agitation.

There is a resemblance between Marguerite and her younger brother. Her features are much more refined and delicate. She doesn't quite notice the wings, though she reacts to the sound of them.

Sweeping the cloak off to drape over her arm, she turns to him. "Are you startled, monsieur? I didn't think my entrance was that dramatic." And she smiles, since she knows exactly what dramatic should look like.

Lucivar examines her face carefully and tilts his head, golden eyes boring into her with his characteristically intent curiosity. "No, not particularly. Just curious. Are you related to Armand St. Just?"

She's never seen eyes like that, and she studies him more closely, now noticing the wings. Her eyes widen just a little. "I am. He's my younger brother. I'm Marguerite Blakeney. How do you know him?"

Have a very friendly grin from Khardeen, who was leaning against one side of the doorframe into the kitchen and eating a cookie he made himself. One without any surprises, surprisingly enough. "Hullo," he says cheerfully, "Guess I can assume you've been here before, then?"

Marguerite nods in immediate answer while she tries to assess how to respond to his casual greeting. "Oh la! That I have, monsieur, but it was many long months ago, and I've forgotten most of the details." Her laugh rings like bells.

She holds out her hand, to be shaken or kissed as he prefers. "I'm Marguerite Blakeney."

Being Khardeen, he kisses her hand and offers her a bow. "Well, seems you'll probably have time to reajust, if what I hear has any truth at all." He sounds amused, a little.

"Very likely," she agrees and gives a return nod to his bow before reclaiming her hand. "I used to be able to find both my husband and brother around here. The husband now I've left at home. I wonder about my brother though. He's always getting into trouble. If I were mother, I should have to scold him until his ears burned, but that seems ridiculous now that we're both supposed to be grown up."

Firekeeper is curled up in front of the fire in a very small ball, human for now, and may be stepped on, as she is fairly inconspicuous.

Despite the cloak, Marguerite is a bit chilled from the cold, and moves over to the fireplace, where she trips over the small form there. She looks down, half-expecting to have tripped over a pet and recoils in surprise. "Oh! I didn't realize--"

Firekeeper unfolds from the floor in a few moments, staying low, and gives Marguerite a growl and a baring of teeth before settling a little. She just hunted, so she's fairly sleepy, which is a good thing. After a pause, she gives Marguerite a stare with her wolf eyes and murmurs in her rather low and strange voice, "'Lo,"

Marguerite jumps back, a little afraid now. "Peace, mademoiselle! I didn't mean to wake you."

Karla is sitting on the front porch, looking thoughtful, when she notices Marguerite approaching. She doesn't stand up until the resemblance becomes apparent, and then a broad smile splits her face and she does get up. When Marguerite reaches the door, she throws out an arm in front of the door. "Hold on," she says with a grin. "I have to get a name, just to be sure."

Now that is a surprise. She almost steps back, afronted, but then her expression cools and softens. "A name? If you mean mine, I am Marguerite Blakeney. I insist you return the favor." She's prepared to push on past if she must, but hopes she doesn't have to do so.

Complete and utter delight suffuses Karla's features and she hops in a little circle with glee. "I knew it I knew it I knew it!" She says happily, then gives Marguerite the brightest, most genuine smile she's given anyone other than the First Circle and perhaps Armand and Chris, and sweeps an elegant bow. "Karla. If you please, Marguerite, Armand is going to be overjoyed to see you."

Now Marguerite smiles and there's no hint of false courtesy in it. "Karla did you say? You know my brother Armand? Armand St. Just?"

Jaenelle is sitting in a chair and reading to herself. She notices the psychic scent first, she usually does, and recognizes a part of it. It only takes a moment for her to make the leap, and she smiles and closes the book quietly. "Hello," she says softly without looking around. If her voice has a touch of midnight, it's only of satisfaction and leftover anger.

That is more like a proper greeting. Marguerite offers her a stage curtsy. "I would ask if this was your home, but I recall that no one owns it. Is that correct? I've come to find my brother."

Jaenelle stands up and gives an inclination of her head, then tilts it to the side in what Lucivar would call her Cat look. "It's certainly not mine," she says, seeming amused. "You're looking for Armand? I imagine he's probably either in the kitchen or upstairs. That's usually where I find him, anyway."

"Yes, exactly. How did you know who I meant?"
