William Hadley-Bright is not accustomed to opening doors in his own time and place, but has learned that one must do so here, as there are no servants for such things. So Hadley-Bright opens the door with no small measure of cheer, and says, "Hallo there!"

[Typist: I haven't read the book, but I loved the movie! If that counts.]

"Oh. Er. Hello. I was wondering if you could help us. You see, I've burnt my hand and my friend has a broken leg and we need a way to get down."

'Get down?' Hadley-Bright repeats. 'I am afraid I do not know what you mean.'

[half_faerie]

"From the cloud. It might disappear."

Jaenelle hears the knock from where she's reading in front of a fire and glides over to the door and opens it, looking out at the young man on the doorstep with cool blue eyes for a few moments before she smiles at him. "Hello."

"Hello, ma'am. Do you know someone who might be able to help, please?"

She steps back so he can come in, if he likes. "Jaenelle, please. And I might be able to help. It depends on your question."

"My friend and I need to get off this cloud."

Karla has been sitting by the lake and watching the sky, and creeps almost silently up behind him. If he doesn't turn around, she'll tap him on the shoulder and murmur "Boo," in his ear.

It is Karla, after all.

And he is Tristran, after all, so he will yelp and jump.

She grins at him and gives a little laugh. "Hello," she says cheerfully.

"Hello." It is more squeaked than spoken.

A Firekeeper is sitting on the stairs off to the side and sharpening her knife, watching him out of the corner of her eye if he notices her. She's rather quiet, being still wolf more than human.

[half_faerie]

He catches a glimpse of her out of the corner of his eye and shudders, quickly looking away.

[ofthewildwolves]

She turns her head around and looks at him directly, her eyes boring into his back. She sheathes her knife and stands up. "Who are you?" she asks roughly.

[half_faerie]

"Tr-Tristran Thorn!"

Molly sees him coming and smiles prettily (which is very pretty indeed, still, even at seven months pregnant). She's about his own age, but he seems to have all the awkward for both of them.

"Ye look damp, young sir, an' a bit cold for it. Would ye like some fresh clothes, then?"

"Oh, yes. Er. Thank you."

[youngandhealthy]

She stands, slowly but not with too much difficulty, and says, "Come with me, then, young sir." And she starts to head for the kitchen (and thus the plothole.)
