A puzzling development

A young woman enters, dressed fashionably in the style of 1817. She doesn't seem to notice where she is at first due to the book she is busy reading. Those who can sense such things would most likely notice the substantial amount of magic surrounding her.

Sam is taking a walk to try and clear his head, and happens to run across the new arrival. He takes a moment to absorb the pertinent details of her appearance and then says, around the cigarette. "Well, you'd have been the first. You want a place to sit down or a class of water or something, sweetheart?"

Well, that's very interesting. Jaenelle can feel the magic, but she can't really tell what it is. It feels fuzzy, the way wizard magic does. She examines the woman from her perch on the stairs for a few moments before standing and coming down the stairs. "I don't think anyone means to be here. They just are."
