A puzzling development

A young woman enters, dressed fashionably in the style of 1817. She doesn't seem to notice where she is at first due to the book she is busy reading. Those who can sense such things would most likely notice the substantial amount of magic surrounding her.

She walks halfway across the main room without once looking up from her book, deftly

Well, that's very interesting. Jaenelle can feel the magic, but she can't really tell what it is. It feels fuzzy, the way wizard magic does. She examines the woman from her perch on the stairs for a few moments before standing and coming down the stairs. "I don't think anyone means to be here. They just are."

"So I've heard."

She smiles. "Good. So I don't have to explain all over again that I don't know where we are or how to get back." She pauses. "Pardon me if this seems rude, but are you aware that you are giving off a rather uncomfortable amount of magic? It's making my head buzz a bit."

"I'm very sorry. I didn't know it might cause distress, I've never had anyone really notice it before."

She shakes her head. "It's nothing, really - many probably won't. I've just become rather attuned to magic in the past couple days, with all of the wizards floating around and the work I've been doing with one of them."

"Oh. What manner of work?"

"Nothing too exciting - just a few experiments on whether we can link and use magic together. The results have been interesting, though."

[charming_cecy]

"I hope you're being careful. I've heard that combining magics can be very dangerous."

[ebonyjaenelle72]

"We've been starting off slowly, just to be sure, but I haven't notice any adverse reaction in my own magic - except for perhaps a little more sensitivity to other kinds."

[charming_cecy]

Cecy frowns a little. "I'd still be on my toes if I were you."

Her smile fades a little. "I will be. I usually am."

[charming_cecy]

"That's comforting."

[ebonyjaenelle72]

She gives her a wry smile. "Well. Welcome to the Mansion, at any rate."
