Draco doesn't understand either language so he just frowns at the new arrival and asks curtly, "Who are you?"

He switches to fluent and flawless English as he says warily, "Gen Watanabe. How did you get in without being noticed?"

"Get in? What do you mean? I live here."

[kotoba_tadashii]

Now Gen frowns a bit. "You've been hiding all this time? But how is that even possible?"

[ken_murata]

"Oh, hello!" Ken says cheerfully, peering at the stranger. He repeats the greeting in Japanese as that's his native language - and just in case Gen didn't understand the English.

Gen speaks both fluently, but senses Ken might be more comfortable with Japanese, and replies in it, "How did I get here, sir? I am becoming more and more convinced that this is not where I intended to be, but I haven't left the house."

"Ooh, I'm afraid nobody knows how we got here. It's kind of.. magical!" He grins, speaking quickly back in Japanese.

"...magical."

Soren knows a wee bit of French, so gets maybe a word or two of the Spanish (cualquiera sounds sort of like quelqu'un, if you squint). "Allo?" he calls back, "Oui, je suis ici?" And then, in English, just in case, "I'm here?"

Gen says in French, "Which is easier for you, French or English?"

"English would be perfect, actually," Soren said, in English, laughing a little. "Did you just get here?"

[kotoba_tadashii]

Gen nods. "So I'm gathering," his English fluent and easy. "Have you been here long?"

[tartanineffable]

"Rather," Aziraphale answers in Spanish (though with an abysmal English accent), appearing -- almost as if out of nowhere -- just behind Watanabe. "Quite a lot of anyone, as a matter of fact."

Gen forced himself not to jump, though he did turn rather quickly. By the time he'd turned around however, he'd registered the accent, and said in English, "But not the anyone I was expecting, I'm learning quickly."

"Oh, probably not," Aziraphale replies in his more comfortable English, with a benign smile. "No one ever expects the Spanish Inquisition anything about this place."

"Have you been here long, then?"

Weena squeaks! And then begins to chatter in her soft golden language, up and down the scale, laughing her surprise to him.

Gen blinks, more in surprise that he doesn't know her language than anything else. Not only doesn't know it, but it doesn't even sound remotely familiar. Tentatively, he tries Mandarin - he knows it isn't Mandarin, but the rising and falling tones suggest it might be...well, very remotely related?

"Do you understand me?"

Absolutely she doesn't. She happily offers him her tiny hands.

He blinks, and takes them. He tries again, the same message in another language, which she will not understand either, as time and not geography is the major problem.
