The Mansion currently contains one (1) goddess of love and beauty, who has been keeping to herself lately and is rather miffed that praises have not been heaped upon her while she's been absent.

Therefore, to instigate some interest in her work if not herself, she's set up a little gazebo in the Mansion's garden. It's lovely, shaded and airy ( Read more... )

Sniffly Karla has found a quiet place in the garden and is relaxing, thinking, and actually not drinking anything for once. She's feeling a little better now, so, of course, a crackplot is exactly what she needs.

Spade has been taking a walk, trying to decide what, if anything, to do about Paul. So he's rather preoccupied when he stumbles across the gazebo, but not so preoccupied he doesn't tip his hat. He's not a gentleman by a long shot, but he's got no reason to be rude to a dame. Well, at least not one he's never met.

Karla looks up and gives him an attempt at a wry smile. "Kiss kiss," she says, pricking up a little at the thought of meeting someone new. "Distracted, or could you pause?"

He raised his eyebrows, deepening the angles of his face. "Never too distracted for a charmin' lady, sweetheart. Just didn't know if you wanted distracting yourself." He tilts his head. "Or if you were expecting someone."

Cassandra needs some loving, so she will settle down, still cheerful from the after effects of Khary's punch, and smile dreamily at the grapes. She's rather distracted right now, but anyone's entrance should perk up her day nicely.

*Clytemnestra, who happens to be rather bored today, also wanders in, and finds herself with Cassandra, which was quite unexpected*

Cassandra gives a shy smile to Clytemnestra, stands, and almost offers a curtsy before remembering that she doesn't really have to any more. "Greetings," she says cheerfully. "Such a pleasure to see you again."

Elphaba's walking through the garden, enjoying the silence, as it's so rare to get any of that at home now, and comes across the little gazebo. She wanders in and spots the drinks. She eyes them warily, still rather upset over the last time she had a drink, but really, rather thirsty after all this walking.

Gavin grabs a glass, not particularly worried by the possibility of ill effects -- after all, none of them ever last long, and things have been dull lately. He spots Elphaba and gives a wave, sipping at his drink.

She smiles and waves to him. "Not poison, then?"

"Apparently not. Unless it's slow-acting, in which case in about fifteen minutes we're fucked."

Not a huge fan of Aphrodite under normal circumstances, he'll probably like her even less after this. But Dinadan just has to take a moment to see what on earth this is, having never noticed any gazebo in the garden before.

Sagramore is seated at the table, and gives Dinadan an amused look from within.

"What is this thing?" he asks without preface.

Most of the Mansion's veteran inhabitants have learned to stay away from anything which appears to be enchanted in some way, and the newer ones learn it quickly enough. Mr Jonathan Strange, being Mr Jonathan Strange, breaks all Mansionly conventions and traditions by approaching the charming little gazebo simply because it is quite obvious (to his well-trained eye, at least) that it has been placed under some sort of spell. Carefully, but with rather less caution than curiosity, Mr Strange approaches the gazebo. He can tell, of course, that it is enchanted, but not just what the nature of that enchantment is; nor does he seem to notice whether or not he himself should fall under its spell...

Have a Molly, as she hasn't been properly crackplotted yet. The gazebo catches her eye, and she walks up to it with a smile. "Sir... is it yours?"

The gazebo...well, perhaps, but it's the girl that catches his eye. Strange glances sidelong at the unknown woman, both eyebrows arching delicately. 'No, indeed,' he says. 'I own no property in this place. I am, however, rather interested to know whose it is, for there seems to be some violent charm upon it, which I cannot make head or tail of...'

He trails off, eyes flickering between the gazebo and the girl; then he suddenly smiles, eyes set upon her now, and takes off his hat and bows quite low. 'Forgive me, madam, I am being quite rude. Jonathan Strange, entirely at your service.'

She smiles, delighted. With a curtsy, she says "Miss Molly Seagrim, at your service sir, I'm sure." She comes in to the gazebo fully. "A charm, you say?"
