Whatever magic in the Mansion is keeping the dead alive? Has gone horribly, horribly wrong. Those who've been dead, then, before or after arriving here, are at risk of-- degenerating, as it were. Possibly the word we're looking for is decomposing. And suddenly, brains are looking more appetizing than ever before ( Read more... )

Andy had been feeling somewhat odd for the past few hours...strange, sharp pains in his chest, but that's forgotten when he sees Paul and he rushes over in concern. "Paul? Are you alright?" His eyes blur for just a moment and he feels faintly dizzy after moving quickly, but he doesn't pause to wonder about it just yet.

Paul is green and rotting and his chest, where he was shot that one time, is oozing blood; he is kind of the opposite of alright. He lolls his head Andywards, arms reaching for him.

"Braaaiiiiiiiinz?"

Now that he's got a better look (and the world's stopped spinning) Andy gasps, he's never seen anything like that outside of horror movies. "...Paul?" He tries to back away and stumbles, his balance is completely shot and the pain in his chest and now parts of his legs is becoming debilitating.

Andy's seen horror movies? And with a cry of "BRAAIIINS!!!!!," zombie!Paul lurches at him, and not being terribly coordinated himself, drives Andy to the ground, apparently attempting to gnaw through his head for the tasty tasty brainmeats within.

*and here's rosencrantz, looking a mite ... paler than usual, perhaps even a little sickly green, not yet craving brainz but picking a bit of loose flesh where he can see little worms crawling about beneath his skin* well, i say -- *pickpick* that's a bit unusual, isn't it? i don't think those were there yesterday --

*pick out one of the little worms, squirming, and offers it to him* why, these. i think i'd remember, if they were there before -- don't you?

*takes the whatever-it-is--and then drops it, upon comprehending what it is--* Thou hast an illness, sir--thou crawl'st with worms--!

Richard, occupied by thoughts of home and whether or not he's done the right thing by Tom, was slightly annoyed when his finger fell off. Until it registered that... well, his finger had just fallen off. Richard held up a hand, which was showing the first signs of rot. He wasn't long dead, after all, and hadn't been horribly injured. So the rot was only here and there. Noticeable, certainly, but not prevalent.

It wasn't so bad, except for being deeply, deeply disturbing. And the fact he was slightly hungry, but he could ignore that for now.

Tom was happily still alive and decided to check up on Richard. His behaviour the last time he saw him had worried him. He knocked on Richard's door and poked his head in. "Rick?"

"Oh, um, Tom - maybe you should-" Richard broke off when he registered that his own voice was hoarse and somewhat inarticulate. And also that his attraction to Tom had somewhat shifted in its focus. He was, however, still enough himself for some control. At least initially.

He didn't move from the doorway. "Are you all right? I came to see how you were doing."

So here's Grantaire, wandering kitchenwards for a drink, of course, but he's not moving as fast as he'd normally be -- and rubbing his chest, looking a little confused.

"..'Lo?"

And Angrod's gone a little grey, and his coordination's going, and in places his skin's looking charred, from that time when he died, and there's blood starting to ooze from his ribs from that other time when he died, but mostly he's really really hungry, craving sweet, squelchy --

Jaaaaaaaaaaaammmm.

And making an unfortunate appearance is Gringoire, the only person who didn't die in his book. He's finding it hard to come up with the right words for the disgust and fear he's feeling.
