She does not know where she has come to, which is a strange thing in and of itself; she has wandered far in her many years, but now she has to doubt her feeling that she must have seen all of Valinor, at one point or another. She strokes her horse's neck and pulls back her hood, leading him up towards the mansion, wondering what sort of folk abide ( Read more... )

Courtesty the current crackplot, there's small redheaded elfling sitting on the front steps, considering logistics and strategy. And then, all he's considering is that his mommy's there, and Nerdanel's going to have a very young eldest son running at her with a lungsquishing hug, and a very unmistakable: "--Ammë-!"

There is something in her, a natural instinct that ignores all time and rational thought, that causes her to drop down to return the hug, her arms wrapping around him tightly. "-- Maitimo?" The voice is soft, her tone shocked, but then she closes her eyes quickly; she has had this dream before.

"Hi, Ammë!" He's relieved to see her -- she hasn't been around all day -- and kisses her cheek. "Do you know where we are?"

She has to swallow before she can speak clearly, not letting him go. "I am afraid I do not, dear."

"Ammë!" For this was just what wee Carnistir was hoping to find, since mothers make all things better, especially /his/ own.

"...Carinstir?" She barely is able to keep herself together, hearing his voice. Normally her dreams are not like this; she does not think it is strange to have her children again, but in this one it is: she remembers the long years when she did not have them.

"I missed you," he said muffled, face buried in her skirt. "Things are all wrong."

Her fingers ghost over his hair, marveling at how real he feels. She cannot say that she missed him too, because she knows her voice will crack. "What is it that is wrong?"

In keeping with the Feanorians, when Findarato comes across his aunt he's still about eight. He smiles when he sees her, and runs over. "Hi, aunt Nerdanel!"

"Findarato?" Now there is a surprise. She is used to seeing her children in her dreams, but not Arafinwë's. "Hello, there, little one."

Findarato is just glad it's aunt Nerdanel and not uncle Feanaro. Uncle Feanaro is kind of scary. "Aunt Nerdanel, do you know where Ata and Amme are?"

"I am afraid I have not seen them." For her, they are a long way away, but she will not tell him that.

((typist: just thought that if the rest ever came out it would likely be less of a shock if they'd actually met, and since talking to Maitimo the other day Armand has been a little curious about the elves))

Seeing an elf-woman lead a horse up toward the Mansion isn't a common sight. Armand jumps down from the railing on the porch and bows with a smile. "Welcome to the Mansion... madame." Age is hard to tell with elves, but something about her looks motherly so he defaults to the more respectful address.

Typist: After a little decision making, most of her history will still be there, though we might retcon a few things, especially involving her and Fëanor; however, she's not going to remember anything of DF at any point.

She gives him a curious look, before double taking; it is hard to tell whether this is stranger than seeing her sons or not. No, he is certainly not an Elf... "...thank you," she says, wondering if she should be wary or not.

((typist: you do what you need to do... I've had to make a few more revisions to Armand's reset as we went along.))

It certainly would never occur to him that she was completely unfamiliar with Men. In any case he's certainly not a threatening figure. He would seem stocky only compared to an Elf, and he's an the short side for an adult of any race. He does note that she seems distressed.

"Oh, my apologies, madame. Was it I who distressed you? I did not mean to do so."

"It is alright," she says after a moment. "I was only startled."
