It is finally Easter and Helen's weeks of preparations have paid off. The kitchen is filled with food for anyone who wants it and Helen is walking around the mansion delivering eggs. Everyone she meets is greeted with a happy "Chrystos Voskrese!" It means "Christ is risen!" in Ukrainian and she isn't expecting anyone to know to say "Voistinnu

He smiles prettily when he sees her, even if they have never met before. "Bonjoir, mademoiselle," he says in return to her greeting, not understanding her words.

"Hello. Happy Easter!" She smiles happily back at him.

"Merci. Have we met? I am Denis."

[border_princess]

"No, we have not." She bows. "My name is Vasil Kurtzevitch."

"Thank you... This is edible?" He asks, looking the egg over.

[border_princess]

"No. It is pysanka, you would call it a magic egg. It is for protection and good fortune." It may not look like much, but it has the power of belief and hundreds of years of folk magic in it.

"It's magic?" He's taking her literally and looks more impressed. "So it has some sort of protective charm on it..."

[border_princess]

"No charm. It just is." That may make no sense to Draco, but it is perfectly understandable to Helen.

"Oooh.. pretty! Thank you! Did you paint this yourself?"

[border_princess]

"Yes. With wax and dye. It is for luck and to say thank you."

[ken_murata]

"Thank you very much! I'm sorry I don't have anything for you.. but Happy Easter!" He beams.

[border_princess]

"That is all right. I wasn't expecting anything in return." She beams back. "You were very kind to me when I arrived and I wanted to show my thanks."

Percy beams, and offers her hot cross buns in exchange.

And there is much beamage back. "Do you want some babka?"

"What's that?"

[border_princess]

"It is sweet bread, like cake. I made some earlier."

"What are you doing?" Jackrabbit asked with a tilt of the head, his golden brown curls falling in his face.

"I am giving out pysanky for Pascha." Sorry Jackrabbit. She sometimes forgets that people don't know her language.

Typist: Eeek! Sweeney already took his egg.

"Pysanky?" Jackrabbit asked, trying at the accent.

T: I know - but I didn't want you to think I had ignored this. I'll have him get it from Sweeney, feel free to have Helen tell him Sweeney has his, or not.

"Eggs. For Easter." She pronounces them strangely.
