It is finally Easter and Helen's weeks of preparations have paid off. The kitchen is filled with food for anyone who wants it and Helen is walking around the mansion delivering eggs. Everyone she meets is greeted with a happy "Chrystos Voskrese!" It means "Christ is risen!" in Ukrainian and she isn't expecting anyone to know to say "Voistinnu Voskrese!" ("Indeed he is risen!") in return, but she says it anyway. She has a long list of people to be recieving eggs. She has one for
Jackrabbit,
Mad Sweeney,
Murata,
Horatio,
O'Leary,
Rosalind,
Dakkar,
Curio,
Percy,
Alcuin,
Easter,
Draco, and
Michael. It is also tradition for the pysanky to be placed on the graves and in the coffins of the dead, so there has been an egg deposited with each of the mansion's three corpses. One next to
Sirius Black, one next to
Prince Paul, and one next to
Richard Carstone. But there are many more eggs and she would be happy to give them to anyone who asks.
