Excuse me -- perhaps this isn't quite proper of me, but there isn't much a young lady can do that is proper under the circumstances, except possibly die of boredom -- but I must say, it has been awfully dull around here lately. Isn't there anyone thinking of throwing a ball or something of the sort?

*bobs a curtsy* Pleased to meet you, Mrs. Strange. My name is Mabel Chiltern. It does get awfully dull, doesn't it! At first it was terribly exciting just to be able to go walking on my own, but there's only so long that's interesting.

Oh, but I've never done anything of the sort, except for helping Gertrude with invitations--! And it would be terribly irregular for a young woman to be entertaining all on her own, wouldn't it?

One must start somewere, mustn't they? And perhaps it's a bit irregular - I don't know much about those things. But it could make your party a novelty, couldn't it? *this is Lucy's world. She really doesn't get it*

Creating a guest list would be a good first step, but be careful not to send out invitations before you have a plan for refreshments and entertainment and such. *helpful! But still sarcastically, a bit*
