A piano-playing vampire

Feb 01, 2007 09:45

Lestat is in the main room of the Mansion, sitting at the grand piano and playing Beethoven with a bored expression. Although his fingers move deftly along the keys with perfect form and timing, he yawns and looks around as if to see if there is anyone nearby ( Read more... )

A large raven perched on the end of the piano, tilting his head and watching Lestat intently.

Lestat blinked at the raven for a few moments, pausing the music. A slow smile spread on his face and he started up again, this time playing some quick and light-hearted Mozart.

"Bonsoir," he says softly, glad to have someone to enjoy the music with him at least.

The bird ruffled his feathers, flapped his abnormally large wings and pecked at Lestat's hair.

Lestat laughs at that, not in the least bit perturbed that a strange, large bird seems to be poking at his head. His hair is shiny and golden, after all. "Qu'est-ce que c'est? Did you want some for yourself, or are you trying to say something?"

*well, it's not quite rousing, but it is company* --Well, I see I've no need to worry.

Lestat looks up to see Louis and smirks slightly. "Worry? What were you worried about this time?"

Various things. *shrugs a bit* It hardly matters, anyway. Where have you been?

"What do you mean, where have I been? I've been in the tower, or wandering the grounds... went to Paris for a while... South America, Tuscany. You know... wandering," he shrugs casually, switching over from Beethoven to Mozart, a song he used to often play in their townhouse in New Orleans.

She catches Lestat mid-yawn and chuckles lightly.

"Tired, mon ami?"

"Aaah! Mam'selle Hermione, how are you?" He smiles widely, beckoning her over and changing songs, this one fun and light-hearted.

She moves a bit closer indeed. It's taking some getting used to, these more "traditional" clothes. She lightly hums a few measures to the tune he is playing as she briefly touches the "pendant" she is wearing.

"Much better than the last time we spoke. And you?"

He notices the 'pendant' she's wearing and looks at it curiously for a moment. "And what has happened since we last spoke? As for myself, I'm doing wonderfully," he grins. "I'm happy to say that for once, love seems to be working in my favour."

Georgiana is appreciative of any musical talent, but most especially that which is directed towards the pianoforte, her own instrument of choice. She stands quietly by, listening.

Lestat sees her nearby and nods politely, offering her a warm smile and motioning for her to come closer if she likes. Now that he has a bit of an audience, he sits properly and begins to change the song into something else entirely. It may have a familiar feel, something light and sweet and pleasant, but the song itself would be unrecognizable as he is making it up now as he goes.

He always was a show-off.

*well, Esmeralda, hears music, so, of course, the natural thing to do is dance. Which she does, in the same remarkably graceful manner that she always does*

At seeing someone dance to the music, Lestat gives a delighted expression and picks up the tempo just a bit. He was never a proper dancer, and had a great appreciation for such arts.

*her dancing seems to increase in tempo as the music does, because, in Esmeralda's mind, a true dancer is so in touch with the music that her dancing naturally adjusts with it, so that it would be impossible for a dancer to move against the music that she dances to. She is clearly enjoying herself, her legs and arms and chest and head moving in a whirl of grace*

He continues playing, looking entranced with her dancing. He plays a song that reminds him of hot nights, beaches, lamps and torches everywhere and people dancing around bonfires.

"Magnifique," he murmurs softly with a smile, just enjoying for a moment the connection between music, musician and dancer.
