Passwords

Recently mrdreamjeans posted about how we've become accustomed to speed-dialing on our phones, rather than memorizing or looking up numbers in a printed phonebook. That made me think about Pass Words … I've got dozens of them active (for amazon.com, for union business, for any number of internet transactions, etc), and wonder how people manage to remember all ( Read more... )

I keep an excel spreadsheet of all my passwords and then email it to myself. That way it's always in my email. Yes if email is down I'm screwed, but it's what I do. LOL

Thanks for the info - I bet you have a lot of company. I've learned that 'whatever works for you' is generally the best way to go.

I have an app that stores my passwords for all the sites I visit. And it syncs to my phone, so I can take them wherever I go. ;-)

At work I used to have to constantly change myriad passwords into so many different systems at regular intervals. My solution? They were always nasty words along with management names.

I generally keep it simple.
nearly identical passwords.
but in groups.
one for paying bills another for "artistic" sites.
and yes I write them in a notebook still just to make sure lol

Congrats …you're probably more organized than I am. Your "in groups" system sounds like a good way to keep a lot of it straight in your head.
