I'm sorry to hear that you received a writer's block! If you need coaching, feel free to email me. I've had a little experience helping with that sort of thing.

One of my friends who has a history degree is now a computer guy and does very well for himself. :)

I am swimming in the lake of Doctor Who goodness this summer. Not so active a fandom at this time, but plenty of great primary source material (can you say 50 years of canon???) and a big fun archive. :)

Also, your mom's name is on my quilt, so I think of you often with thoughts of beauty and gratitude. hope you feel them!

:)

*hugs* You are good at providing the happy thoughts. They are warmly radiated back. ♥ I may take you up on your offer later this summer, once I turn back to writing for school. Thank you. In the meantime, I'll let my sis know to go into computers. ;) Have not seen DW--yet! A friend is promising to get me started, though, and between Sherlock and Merlin, the BBC has been providing the good crack, so.... Are you a new Who fan, or catching up?

I'm a new fan AND an old fan. I was introduced to Doctor Who as a teenager back in the 80s. In those days, public television stations would broadcast the Show late on Saturday nights. I never saw any episodes of the first three doctors, but saw many of Tom Baker's episodes, enough to become a certified fan of the Doctor. I also very much liked his successor, Peter Davidson, and the next one, Colin Baker (though I didn't get to see all of his episodes). I never saw any of the Seventh Doctor and fell away from the fandom over the course of the 90s ( ... )

As it happens, my girlfriend is showing me a few choice episodes tomorrow! We're going to have a mini-marathon in the hopes I'll get hooked. She has it all planned: 3 or 4 key Eccleston eps, then starting from the top of S2. I'm inclined to go with it, and if it really catches, then go back and start from the beginning. Seriously, I've heard so many good things about Eccleston and Tenant that I really hope it'll catch!

Did I mention that Nine is a world-weary warrior with close-cropped hair, a leather jacket, and a deep emotional bond with his mode of transportation? :D

Hee! Today I asked the gf about the Time War, and wow, that would be an intense aftermath. :/ Poor guy. Not at all like Dean, who started the Apocalypse, no. *g*

the women are sketched out not so much in terms of how they complement Sam or Dean, but rather for the purposes of what they bring to the story as characters in their own right.)That's a cool turnaround of the more usual criticism that the women are never given a chance to stick around in relationships with ( ... )
