I was impressed that the script allowed for every member of the cast to really shine (although Thor didn't shine quite as well as everyone else.) The things I dug the most:
1. Stark did a lot of growing up in this movie. By the end, he was actually being a hero rather than playing at one. 2. Hulk. "Puny god." 3. Coulson. "So that's what it does." 4. Hawkeye. He started out in Marvel continuity as a bad guy, so this take was pretty cool (even though he was a lot more Ultimates Hawkeye than mainstream Hawkeye.) 5. Thor. I really liked how he sincerely wanted his brother to just come home. Nice job on that. 6. Cap. Once the crap really started getting real, we finally saw the Captain America I've always wanted to see. 7. As you say, Widow was awesome. Loved how she played Loki & I really liked the relationship between her & Hawkeye.
Ultimately, this was the epitome of the perfect ensemble movie. Everyone was allowed to kick ass and then they started working together to kick even more ass. Pure awesomesauce.
