I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. Do you mean telling the person what it feels like to be them?

Also...

You might want to both screen comments and make this entry public.

Do you think that it would be useful? And would you want your comments screened?

I would like to link to your entry, but not everyone I know (very few, in fact?) is friends with you.

I don't need my comments screened, but I can imagine someone having something to say who is afraid of everyone else knowing about eir depression/trauma/survivorship.

The entry is public now, and I've turned on screening for anonymous comments, in case there is anyone who wants to keep on the DL.

This is a good list. Another thing not to do to someone dealing with stress is to start rattling off your own stress. Because it makes the stressed person feel even more stress (the exception to this is either if you are both stressed about the same thing and need to vent, or if you have a suggestion for how to deal with the stress -- e.g. "I was overcharged on my phone bill once, too, but I asked to speak with a supervisor and it was resolved.")

Thank you for posting this! I am grateful to see that stress is up there on the list, because that can be just as debilitating as abuse or depression.

It's sad that lists like this are necessary. Every one of these items looks to me like it should be obvious common sense. But I know they're not always.
