Sometimes there are weeks in which I watch my US-American shows, read my American books and fanfiction, hear American songs, and talk to my partly American flist. And am quite happy and content and wonder "Now where did these anti-US tendencies of mine come from

That's good. Because I took you to be one of the nice, sensible, peace-loving Americans, and if you had said something like "WTF, stoopid German, no-one is allowed to criticize the mighty US of A, and insulting Iranians don't count as insulting anyways!", I would have been rather confused.

You are right, saying 'no' to the US isn't easy. My gouvernment decided against joining Bush's War Against Terrorism, and we got some pretty harsh comments to that.

Our current Federal Chancellor is rather ass-licking, too... She would have joined the US. I'm just glad she wasn't elected yet when 9-11 happened.
