I've heard this "I hate Christianity because of the Crusades" argument too many times to count-- two of my ex-boyfriends fed me that same nonsense. Jesus would have said the people who participated in the Crusades weren't Christians anyway, since they went around killing people in direct violation of what He taught. The whole thing was false advertising. It doesn't take a genius to look up in the scriptures, "Thou shalt not kill," and then do the math-- I don't know why they couldn't.

If there is one thing atheists who hate religion always do,
is take scripts out of context, compare attitude to altitude (wow, that sounds stylish...) and not take information from the masters. I had a discussion with a well-meaning evolutionist who took many things out of context. Many things within context of many Abrahamic religions cannot be taken out of context of the time and condition the words apply ( ... )
