Derek's been keeping to himself since, well, actually before the experiment. Lately, that keeping to himself has included staying out in the forest for long periods of time, only coming home for showers, shaves and the occasional pot of hot-brewed coffee

Hey. I'm back. [It was only five minutes. Don sits on the edge of the bed and smoothes a hand over his brother's feverish brow.]

Mmn. [All right, he feels slightly better now.] Where'd you go?

Needed to talk to Derek. ... He's getting drafted again.

[His eyes widen and he tilts his head enough to study Don's expression.] What? Again?

[Then the tickle in the back of his throat catches him, and he has to cough a few times before growling in frustration.]

Mm. [He shakes his head.]

[He turns to lie on his side, pulling the blanket up to his chin and coughing again.]

But I'll be glad when this's over.

[He rubs Raph's shell through the blanket, mindful of the two soft rises that mark his folded wings.] Is it getting any better?

No...[Oh, that feels good. He closes his eyes and relaxes a little.] I feel ten times crappier than yesterday.

That's good.

Good? Whaddya mean "That's good"?

Means it's passing. I'd be more worried if you felt the same.

[He heaves a dramatic sigh, but the effect is kind of killed because he made himself cough. Anyways.]
